I guess it was inevitable. The people who like to post spam on message boards have gotten sophisticated enough to circumvent the safeguards that I've put in place to keep them from registering.

Because of that, I have had to implement a delay between the time that you register and the time that you are able to post, so that I can review all new registrations and activate the legitimate ones.

You can e-mail me if you have any questions before you register, or if you want to give me a little "nudge" to activate your account immediately so that you can begin posting right away.

I apologize for any inconvenience this causes new members. As always, you are able to read all posts while waiting for your registration to become active.

This is also a good reason to go ahead and register early even though you may not be ready to post. This way, when you get that brilliant spur-of-the-moment idea for a great post, you won't have to wait to be "activated" before you can put pen to paper (or fingers to keys ).

I installed a new tool which should not allow spammers to register, therefore "real people" may once again activate their own membership!

A few minutes after you register, you will receive an email with a link in it. Click on the link, and your membership will be activated. You are then able to begin posting immediately.
